I am Eoin Mc Cambridge, Farming 70 ha in partnership with my father John on the edge of the sea side town of Ballycastle Co Antrim within a stones trrow of the North Antrim Coast. The main enterprise is a 650 ewe flock of which all lambs are finished of grass. I am a committee member of BENI and a committee member of a local producer group.
We planted 15 ha of SRC willow between 2006 and 2007 of which we harvest approx 5 ha each year in a 3 year cycle and dry it in a purpose built drive on floor drying store. The store holds approx 160 tonnes of dryed product of which is exceptional quality dryed to approx 17% DM.We are always looking new customers for our product. The electricity used to power the huge drying fans is prouduced by our own hydro electric water turbine. The farm is open to the farming public through the Focus Farm scheme.
